Kenyir Hydroelectric Power Plant Project II (July 2001-2002)
Client:Tenaga Nasional BerhadDescription of Project:The project comprised the installation of two units of 150 MW (300MW) hydroelectric power plant together with all the associated auxiliary equipment and station support facilities including the addition of an inlet structure, two pressure tunnels and a power station, as an extension to the existing four units of 100 MW (400 MW) at the Sultan Mahmud Hydroelectric Power Station in Kenyir, Terengganu. The Consultant is to comprising SMEC and two foreign consultants was to undertake the necessary preliminary and conceptual study, tender design review, tender documents review, engineering, procuring, project management and execution, including supervision of construction and commissioning, in accordance with the TOR. The cost of consulting services will be financed out of the proceeds of a loan extended for the Project by Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Services Provided:Review the existing preparation of tender design and tender document of the Civil, Electrical and Mechanical components of the Project such as the intake structures, power tunnels, power station, turbine and generators and the associated E&M parts.
