Description of Project:

Incorporation of a mini hydro facility into an existing CFRD dam. The dam is mainly an irrigation dam. The discharge from the dam is controlled via two 2m diameter hollow jet valves. The penstock for the mini hydro plant connects to one of the two existing discharge conduits. Two 5MW horizontal Francis turbine units are housed in a power station located adjacent to an existing stilling pool. The plant will be interconnected to an existing 33kV substation located 12km away.

Generating unit sizing and type selection. Energy generation modelling and optimisation. Preparation of tender design for generator, turbine, electrical auxiliary, mechanical auxiliary, control, communication, TNB switching facility, overhead transmission line and substation interconnection.
