SMEC (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is a MS ISO 9000:2001 certified engineering consultancy firm providing multidisciplinary consultancy services in project identification, project development, design, project management in the areas of hydro and thermal power generation, renewable energy, dam engineering, water resources, highways & transportation, infrastructure, water supply and project management and development.
SMEC (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in Malaysia in 1991. In May 2000, SMEC became a wholly Malaysian owned company. The firm is supported by more than 50 professionals, sub-professionals and administrative staff.
SMEC Malaysia is associated with Snowy Mountain Engineering Company Limited of Australia a large international engineering consulting and project management organisation, which has successfully completed more than 2000 separate projects in Australia and in 70 other countries for international funding and aid agencies, as well as for government organisations and private sector clients. SMEC (Malaysia) receives specialist technical support through its fully owned subsidiary SMEC International.
